Patricia Cogram

Patricia holds a bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Genetics from University College London (UCL), University of London, UK (UK). Her first postgraduate course, MSc. In Neuroscience at the University of Oxford, Oxford, UK and her Ph.D. In Neurodevelopment at the Institute of Child Health, Great Ormond Street for Sick Children, UCL, UK. She then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology, Medical Research Council, London, UK. And at the end of her postdoctoral work as an independent research associate at the Institute of Child Health, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, London, UK.

In 2010, she returned to Latin America, where she joined as principal investigator of the Molecular Neurobiology Laboratory at the Child Neuropsychiatry Service, at the San Borja Arriaran Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, University of Chile. In 2011 she founded the Neuro-DVI, a company with a focus on the development of translational and therapeutic strategies in neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental diseases, of which she is still Chief Executive Officer.

In the year 2013 she assumes as director of the Division of Biomedicine, at the Fraunhofer Institute, in Santiago, Chile. In the period 2014 and 2015 she obtained four patents, two with the pharmaceutical company Neuren Ltd USA and two patents were already licensed by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft Institute, Germany in 2015. Given her experience in the area of translational research and her work with pharmaceutical companies And technology at the international level, Patricia focuses her work in the area of translational biomedicine.
