Líneas de investigación

Estudiamos las fallas cognitivas que ocurren en diversos trastornos neurológicos y psiquiátricos con el fin, no solo de contribuir a la evaluación y tratamiento de los mismos, sino también al entendimiento del funcionamiento cerebral normal. De esta forma estudiamos los perfiles neuropsicológicos de pacientes con enfermedades neurológicas y psiquiátricas, como la enfermedad de Parkinson, la Demencia Frontotemporal, la Esquizofrenia o la Enfermedad Bipolar para luego colaborar en la descripción de las bases neurales de funciones cognitivas diversas como la Memoria o la Cognición Social. Asimismo buscamos conocer en profundidad el procesamiento del lenguaje normal y patológico, tanto a nivel conductual como cerebral, durante la infancia y la vida adulta. Este conocimiento permitirá el desarrollo de herramientas adecuadas para la evaluación y el diseño de tratamientos teóricamente fundamentados en español.
